JEAB Masks – Young Enterprise Scheme

We are a group of year 12 students at Tawa College who are participating in the Young Enterprise Scheme - a nationwide competition that encourages students to build and manage a business after creating their own innovation.

Our business is called JEAB Masks and our product includes:

  • A government regulation approved mask with a washable carbon filter, in an array of colours and patterns. We offer two sizes of masks, one for 7 years and under and an adult size.
  • A useful drawstring storage bag.
  • A handmade adoreable keychain.

Our mission as a company is to act proactively against the spread of Covid-19 and other harmful infectious diseases and decrease the number of disposable masks in the landfill. We aim to do this by encouraging the younger people of New Zealand to wear reusable masks in public areas, particularly due to the current outbreaks of the virus.

We realise it is not legally necessary for children under the age of 12 to wear masks, but we are encouraging mask wearing not only for family protection but for the greater good of New Zealand.
